For Authentic Women Only
Vulnerability isn't a goal for many people--or a state that everyone joyfully pursues. But for those of us who have been on an authentic journey for a while or are just starting out, we’re happy to “get real” and “go there”--with each other and ourselves.
This means showing up as our whole, human selves; reducing our judgment of self and others; and recognizing--without shame--our interdependence and need for help.
All of these practices allow us to reap the rewards of living and connecting authentically.
I discovered long ago that I preferred the company of people who are committed to these practices--and that I did not enjoy “traditional” networking events or groups. Mostly because, in the words of Forrest Gump, “You never know what you’re going to get.”
As an authenticity champion, introvert, and woman, I wanted to create the space for women to be vulnerable and real with one another. So, after the humbling experience of cancer, “Authentic Women’s Exchange” (or AWE) was born in 2013 as an in-person meetup in the Phoenix Metro area.
From the beginning, AWE was not going to be a “numbers game.” In order to provide an authentic experience (as promised by the name), anyone and everyone needed to capable of and passionate about being vulnerable. Of being their unique selves. And seeing their lives and businesses through the lens of helpfulness. Only by having authentic conversations to screen for this ability could I ensure the quality of interactions for everyone.
For these reasons, AWE has been by invitation--and word-of-mouth--only. Based on my recent participation in the Empowered Together podcast, I decided it was time to give AWE a home on the web, here, as it’s sponsored by TDZ Creative Partners.
I'd like to personally invite you to join the AWE group and be a part of this amazing journey.
Are you ready?
